Black Rock Solar installed a 46kW array on the roof of Hugh Gallagher Elementary in historic Virginia City, Nevada. This is a ballasted system, designed to withstand Virginia City’s high winds without penetrating the roof. Juxtaposing new, clean energy technology with the historic mining culture of this mountainside town, this array might be seen as a symbol for Nevada’s evolving industry.
