North Lyon County Fire Protection District was facing tough economic times when Black Rock Solar installed this 30 kW array in July 2010. Friends of the firehouse and members of the community came through at the annual SolarStice fundraiser held on June 27, 2010 at Great Basin Brewery in Reno. Money was raised so that the fire station in Fernley got its first ever solar installation- 30 kW of power that is demonstrating savings already.
