Head Start provides programs and services for children and parents in the Stewart Community of the Washoe Tribe. The mission of the Washoe Tribe Head Start Program is to provide quality care and education in a loving, safe and nurturing environment. This atmosphere supports each 3 to 5 year old child’s individual pattern of development and learning. Focusing on the entire family unit and the full needs of the child, Head Start’s goal is to provide a series of positive experiences for both children and parents. This 14 kW array will offset operational costs and provide clean energy for the tribe for the next 25-30 years.
