The Children’s Cabinet is a wonderful non-profit organization that exists to keep children safe and families together by offering services and resources that address unmet needs. Black Rock Solar is ultra-proud to be working with our friends at the Children’s Cabinet to install a 15 kW array at their new Wilbur D. May Youth Center in midtown Reno.
Black Rock Solar participated in fundraising efforts with the Children’s Cabinet for several months on this project. This is our second solar array for the Children’s Cabinet – the first was a 30 kW ground-mount at the organization’s administrative headquarters on Rock Blvd. With the money saved on electricity costs from these installations, the Children’s Cabinet will be able to provide additional services to our community.

May Youth Center goes green thanks to generous donations from Black Rock Solar, Dixie May Foundation, Bretzloff Foundation, Firestone Unaclad, and the Nell J. Redfield Foundation. The Children’s Cabinet is excited to use solar power as we aspire to have staff and the families we serve support green technology. Cost savings generated by the solar array at the Wilbur D. May Youth Center will go directly to the families we work with. We hope this technology will become the norm for future generations as they observe the benefits of solar power.
