Truckee Meadows Community College

Reno, Nevada

“This installation was a good economic choice to offset our power needs, while adding green technology to our campus. TMCC currently offers a two-year renewable energy degree program, and having the technology embedded on our campuses helps us show the resources in action.”

Ted Plaggemeyer, TMCC Dean of Sciences

TMCC is investing in the future with its commitment to renewable energy. The college now offers a degree in renewable energy, with one of BRS’ crew members as a recent graduate. In May 2012, Black Rock Solar completed a 50 kW roof mounted photovoltaic array, prominently placed on the sloping roof of the Vista Building.

TMCC will save $9,300 annually on electricity with this array, or $219,000 over 25 years.
