“Due to the immediate cost savings of going green with our friends at Black Rocks Solar and NV Energy, we will save an estimated $9,700 annually. That equates to over 5,000 more meals annually to our youth.”
Travis Crowder, Chief Professional Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley
With the addition of a 247-panel solar array, Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley will now save nearly $10,000 annually on utility costs while helping the environment.
The 68-kW array is both on the roof of the building and on the top of a newly constructed carport at the facility.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mason Valley serves more than 400 children daily with meals; after-school reading, technology and teen programs; and a preschool program. It has an enrollment of 1,900 children at six locations throughout the community.
