Bristlecone Building, Western Nevada College

Carson City, Nevada

“With all the budget cuts the college has faced over the past several years, the energy and related budget savings from these installations allow us to reallocate our scarce resources to better serve our students and maintain programs.”

Chet Burton, WNC President

Black Rock Solar has installed a fifth solar array for Western Nevada College – a 180-kW roof array on the Bristlecone Building.

The latest 666 panels at the Carson City campus bring Western Nevada College’s total solar power to an impressive 578 kW! They also provide more than $25,000 in savings each year for the college.

Western Nevada College is a comprehensive community college that serves more than 5,000 students each year within a five county area, spanning more than 10,000 square miles. WNC reaches out to its urban and rural communities with campuses in Carson City, Fallon and Minden/Gardnerville. In addition, distance education offerings, including interactive video and online classes, allow those in widespread locations access to higher education.
