Hungry Mother Organics

Dayton, Nevada

Black Rock Solar completed a 270-panel, 84-kW ground-mount array at Hungry Mother Organics’ new aquaponic greenhouse beside the Carson River in Dayton, NV, in October 2015.

Aquaponics is a system that combines raising fish like tilapia with growing plants like tomatoes. Hungry Mother Organics has a great video showing how the system works. With the solar array sitting along side the new greenhouse, Hungry Mother Organics will save about $9,000 annually. That’s money that can go into further spreading the local, organic message throughout Northern Nevada!
