Black Rock Solar installed a 378-panel, 101-kW ground-mount array at the Truckee Meadows Community College Meadowood Campus in Reno, Nevada, in February 2014. This array will save the college more than $350,000 over the next 25 years – money the college can put toward educational services for Northern Nevada. In fact, 95 percent of TMCC’s students stay in Nevada after completing their studies, helping to build and support our local community.
This is the third array Black Rock Solar has installed at Truckee Meadows Community College, bringing the 28,000-student school’s solar capacity to nearly 300 kW!
In addition to a wide variety of college credit courses offered regularly at the Meadowood campus, other programs here include the Workforce Development and Continuing Education division offering more than 1,000 professional development and personal enrichment programs, Adult Basic Education including English as a Second Language and High School Equivalency preparation as well as basic literacy programming, and Veterans Upward Bound.
