WestCare Women & Childrens Campus

Las Vegas, Nevada

“It’s exciting to see the good the solar array will do for our environment! The clean energy will save us so much money – money that will now go back to our clients to help change lives.”

Mary Jane DeVaney, counselor

It’s hard to think of a higher goal for an organization than “uplifting the human spirit,” but that’s just what the counselors and staff at WestCare Women & Childrens Campus work to do every day. Now, the new 102-kW photovoltaic array installed by Black Rock Solar at the Las Vegas facility can help them fulfill their mission!

With the help of 396 panels creating clean, renewable power, WestCare will save nearly $11,000 a year on its utility bills. That savings can go directly to services: substance abuse treatment; outpatient counseling; case management; family support groups; domestic violence prevention; temporary housing; pre-crisis prevention services; 24-hours a day, seven days a week intake services; individual and group counseling; drug and alcohol assessments; health education and prevention; and referral services. The center also manages programs catering to Homeless Youth in Crisis, offering shelter, detoxification, and transitional living services.
