- Offering solar workshops to homeowners and business managers
- Arranging meetings and forums for stakeholders in renewable energy
- Dedicating the arrays we install to include the public and showcase our solar partners
- Providing apprenticeships and job training in solar power and installation
- Participating in community events like Earth Day
- Creating partnerships between other environmental non-profit organizations
- Working closely with Native American tribes
- Improving communication about renewable options in print, on line, and via video
POLICY
Black Rock Solar works with industry stakeholders like the Nevada Public Utility Commission, NV Energy, renewable energy contractors, state legislators, and other non-profit organizations to promote better renewable energy policies in Nevada and across the country. In the past two years, we have contributed to the advancement of several progressive laws and regulations such as:
- Increasing the amount of money available for rebates on residential and commercial solar projects
- Streamlining the rebate allocation and management process to benefit customers and the industry
- Enabling third-party ownership of renewable energy systems so that businesses and consumers can realize the benefits of renewable energy without the upfront costs
