GREENevada

Black Rock Solar works closely with other organizations to achieve a high level of educational outreach for levels K-12. We have created a collaborative coalition called GREENevada – Growing Resources for Environmental Education in Nevada that provides environmental programs for students across the state. Each of these organizations has created excellent opportunities for students to learn and experience new ideas centered around sustainability. We are happy to offer coordinated programs with any or all of our partners and also encourage interested schools to contact them directly for more information about how to get involved.

GreenPower

Alliance for Climate Education

ACE is a national non-profit dedicated to educating America’s high school students about the science behind climate change and inspiring them to do something about it—while having fun along the way. Our extensively trained ACE educators visit high schools around the country to give students the scientific skinny on climate change through our fun & festive multimedia presentation. After the assembly, we help students start Action Teams to take on projects in their community and school to lower their emissions and raise their voice. We also post lots of fun videos and give away prizes on Facebook, like private concerts at Pandora.

Urban Roots Garden Classrooms

Urban Roots is dedicated to changing the way kids EAT and LEARN. From planting and harvesting to preparing what we grow, Urban Roots follows food from seed-to-table, empowering students to answer the question, “Where does our food come from?” As this question becomes more and more complex, Urban Roots makes it simple again with garden education that connects us to our health, classrooms, environment, and community.
