Happy Day In Lovelock

On Tuesday, we dedicated our newest projects at the Lovelock Elementary School, in front of 220 children who attend the school. There was speechifying and ribbon cutting and the unveiling of a sign containing the names of all 321 people from around the world who donated to make this project possible.

Tom Price explains the array to the students
Perhaps the most moving moment was when Pershing County School District Superintendent Dan Fox announced that in just the first two months the single array on the school had saved $3,600, with half again that on the other smaller array. He said the money was already being put to use, by hiring back laid off teacher’s aides to help in the classroom.

Presentation of rebate from NV Energy, which covered the bulk of the project cost.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who made this project possible–this is exactly the sort of work we are here to do, and we couldn’t do it without you.

Sign installed after the dedication.
Extra special thanks to Bruce Dewing, owner of Sturgeon’s Casino in Lovelock, for housing our crew at no charge!
