Dedication of Nevada’s largest church solar array on Aug 13

August 5th, 2009  |  Published in News

Please join us in celebrating another solar array installation at the Seventh Day Adventist church and Silver State Adventist school in Reno, 7125 W 4th St. on August 13 at 11AM. Black Rock Solar will host a BBQ lunch for all attendees after the dedication ceremony.

This project (or, rather these two arrays, 30kW and 20kW) will be used to teach students and church members about the benefits of renewable energy, while reducing power bills to the church and school.

During the event, NV Energy will present a $230,000 rebate to the church for installing 50 kilowatts of solar power on the roof of the church building.

The church also plans to install photovoltaic panels panels on a nearby 100-year old ranch house that’s being restored on site. The new Stone House Resource and Education Center (SHREC) will be an educational resource for the entire community.

We hope you can attend!
